There is a wealth of data behind this initiative. The reasons why businesses fail are because of failures in a broad set of capabilities which are outside of the entrepreneur’s core skill set. There are MANY organizations and incubators that try to help with a small subset of these areas, but those businesses still fail at a very high rate because:

1. They only deal with a couple areas
2. They don’t truly partner for the long-term
3. They aren’t concerned about the individual as a person, only the business
4. The volunteer-dependent model isn’t sustainable because it’s both short-term and fragmented

We seek to overcome the challenges of this very common model. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

We need to build our MACHINE to truly change this model, that includes a broad set of services and a VERY hands-on approach. The time commitment even for a small cohort of clients is quite large especially if we don’t have our MACHINE built. Without the MACHINE to maximize our efficiency, the time commitments from the team would be very large and the process would not be repeatable.

We will build that MACHINE by following a proven framework defined in The Lean Startup:

• Start with the minimum product (the first version of our MACHINE) in its simplest form that satisfies the mission
• Build systems and processes to streamline the business
• Get the core good then continuously add complexity and improvements
